Steel vs. Aluminium - how do I choose?

There are many similarities between aluminium and steel doors:

• A vast array of colours & finishes

• Many design styles all giving that "Crittall-style" look including glazing bars, lock-boxes and panels

• Both available with double or triple glazing

Whilst there are similarities, there are also differences:

Aluminium

• Lower cost - typically around half the cost of steel

• Shorter leadtimes - often as short as 3 - 4 weeks

Steel

• Slimmer profiles and the most authentic look

• More shapes such as arched door heads

• Welded corners make frame joints invisible

• Leadtimes are typically 12 - 16 weeks.
